- Acquisition profile
The businesses we look for
We look for well-managed, profitable B2B businesses with strong market positions, clear customer value and opportunities for continued development.
Our focus is on specialist industrial and industrial technology businesses where technical knowledge, differentiated products, capabilities or services create a strong and defensible position.

Our acquisition criteria
Company size
€1.5–5m typical EBITA - Smaller add-on acquisitions may also be considered where there is a strong fit with an existing business.

Geography
Europe first, with opportunities elsewhere considered where there is a compelling strategic fit.

Business model
Flexible across specialist B2B models, including manufacturing, assembly, industrial components, specialist distribution, services and solution-led businesses

- ACQUISITION REMIT

Our areas of interest include:
- Industrial technology

We are flexible on business model. What matters is the quality of the business, the value it creates for customers and its potential to continue developing under long-term ownership.
- BEYOND THE FINANCIAL PROFILE
We look at the whole business
Financial performance is an important starting point, but our assessment goes further. We want to understand the underlying quality of the business, what has created its market position and what will support its continued success. Alongside financial performance, we consider factors including:
Market position and differentiation
The strength of the company's niche, competitive position and the value it creates for customers.
Management and succession
The capability of the leadership team, future management ambitions and any succession considerations associated with the transaction.
Customers and resilience
The quality and longevity of customer relationships, customer concentration and the resilience of the business model.
Growth and investment potential
Opportunities for organic growth, international development, investment in capabilities or capacity, and potential further acquisitions.
Culture and ways of working
The entrepreneurial qualities, specialist knowledge and values that have contributed to the company's success.
Long-term fit
How the business could continue to develop within Beijer Components' decentralized ownership model.

The acquisition experience behind Beijer Components
- A clear path from opportunity to completion
Our acquisition process
We aim to run a focused and transparent acquisition process, working closely with owners and their advisors from initial assessment through to completion.
Every transaction is different, but our approach typically follows five stages.
- Step 1
Initial Assessment
We review the opportunity against our acquisition criteria, strategic fit and long-term potential within Beijer Components. Where there is a potential fit, we engage directly with owners and advisors to understand the opportunity in more detail.
- Step 2
Business and management review
We develop our understanding of the company’s market position, financial performance, customers, management, capabilities and growth opportunities, while exploring the ambitions of the owners and management team.
- Step 3
Indicative proposal
Where there is a strong mutual fit, we work towards an indicative valuation and transaction structure, establishing the key commercial principles for progressing the opportunity.
- Step 4
Due diligence and final agreement
We undertake focused due diligence covering the material aspects of the business and work closely with owners and advisors to finalise transaction terms and documentation.
- Step 5
Completion and transition
Once the agreed conditions are satisfied, the transaction completes. From there, the focus moves to a structured transition and the priorities for the company’s continued development under Beijer Components’ ownership.
- After acquisition
What we preserve and support
We acquire successful businesses because of what they have already achieved. Our approach is not to impose a standard operating model, but to preserve the qualities that have created that success while providing the backing for continued development.
Companies within Beijer Components operate with a high degree of autonomy. Local management remains close to customers, markets and day-to-day decisions, while drawing on the financial strength, experience and wider capabilities of the group where these can add value.
Established market identity
We value and preserve established brands, customer relationships, reputations and the market positions businesses have built.
Business model independence
We support each company’s established way of working, rather than imposing a standardised group operating model.

FAQs
Questions business owners ask us
Do you consider opportunities outside your stated acquisition criteria?
Yes. Our acquisition criteria provide a guide rather than an absolute screen. We consider each opportunity on its individual merits, including its strategic fit, market position and long-term potential.
Do you consider both standalone and add-on acquisitions?
Yes. We consider standalone businesses that can continue to develop within Beijer Components as well as add-on acquisitions that strengthen the capabilities, market position, product offering or geographic reach of an existing company.
Does the owner need to remain after completion?
Not necessarily. Many owners and key leaders choose to remain actively involved and continue developing the business. Where an owner wishes to retire or step away, we can work together on a structured transition, provided there is an appropriate plan for continued leadership.
Do you require businesses to have international operations?
No. International presence can be attractive, but it is not a requirement. Strong businesses with leading positions in domestic or specialist markets can also be relevant.
How do you approach confidentiality?
We recognise the importance of confidentiality throughout an M&A process and handle initial discussions and information appropriately as conversations progress. Formal confidentiality arrangements can be put in place where required.
How are acquisitions financed?
Beijer Components benefits from the financial strength and funding capacity of Beijer Alma, providing the ability to support acquisitions and continued investment following completion.
